Bar Goggles Privacy Policy

Effective date: May 21, 2026. This policy explains what Bar Goggles collects, how it is used, how it may be shared, and how to contact us.

Information We Collect

We may collect information you choose to provide, including account information (such as email address, display name, and username for users who create a Bar Goggles account using Sign in with Apple or an email and password), owner account information, owner signup information, bar profile updates, reviews, ratings, chat messages, reports, moderation requests, and support communications.

If you allow location access, the app may use your device location to center the map, show nearby bars, and support optional friend-group location sharing. You can deny or disable location access in your device settings.

We and our service providers may collect technical, usage, and diagnostic information needed to operate and secure the service, such as device and app information, IP address, authentication identifiers, app interactions, performance information, crash logs, diagnostics, and server logs.

Live Video And Venue Information

Bar Goggles displays live or near-live camera feeds from participating venues. These feeds may show venue interiors, crowd activity, staff, performers, patrons, and other activity in camera view. Bar owners or venue operators are responsible for camera placement, on-premises notices, and compliance with applicable laws relating to recording or streaming in their venue.

Do not submit sensitive personal information, payment card numbers, Wi-Fi passwords, government identification numbers, health information, or other highly sensitive information through public forms, chat, reviews, or owner notes unless we specifically request it through a secure process.

How We Use Information

We use information to provide, operate, maintain, secure, and improve Bar Goggles; show bars, maps, live feeds, reviews, chat, specials, and owner-managed updates; authenticate approved owner accounts; process owner signup requests; operate optional friend groups; respond to support requests; moderate abuse; prevent fraud; debug errors; comply with legal obligations; and protect rights, safety, and property.

We do not sell personal information. We do not use user location to track users across third-party apps or websites for advertising.

How Information Is Shared

We may share information with service providers that help operate the service, including Firebase/Google Cloud, Resend, Stripe, Apple services, hosting providers, streaming infrastructure providers, and similar vendors. We may also share information with authorized bar owners or venue managers, payment providers, professional advisors, law enforcement or regulators where legally required, and successors in a business transaction.

Reviews, display names, ratings, chat messages, and optional friend-group location may be visible to other users depending on the feature you use.

Cookies And Similar Technologies

Our website and service providers may use cookies, local storage, logs, or similar technologies for basic site operation, security, preferences, analytics, and performance. You can control cookies through your browser settings.

Data Retention

We keep information for as long as reasonably necessary to provide the service, operate owner accounts, maintain records, comply with legal obligations, resolve disputes, enforce agreements, prevent abuse, and protect the service. Billing, tax, legal, security, fraud-prevention, and dispute-resolution records may be retained longer where required or appropriate.

Your Choices

You can disable location access in your device settings, turn off optional friend-group location sharing in the app, avoid posting personal information in public reviews or chat, request deletion of an owner account or eligible personal information, and request moderation or removal of content you posted.

Depending on where you live, you may have rights to request access, correction, deletion, portability, restriction, objection, or appeal regarding certain personal information. We may need to verify your identity or authority before fulfilling a request.

Account Deletion

Owner account deletion requests can be sent to support@bargogglesapp.com. Please include the owner email address, bar name, and information we can use to verify ownership or account authority. We aim to respond within 7 days and complete eligible deletion requests within 30 days.

Children And Age Restrictions

Bar Goggles is designed for users who are old enough to use nightlife and bar-related services in their jurisdiction. The service is not directed to children under 13, and we do not knowingly collect personal information from children under 13.

Security

We use reasonable administrative, technical, and organizational measures designed to protect information. No method of transmission or storage is completely secure, and we cannot guarantee absolute security.

Third-Party Services

The service may contain links, embeds, maps, live video players, payment pages, social links, or other features provided by third parties. We are not responsible for the privacy practices of third-party services. Review their privacy policies before using them.

Changes

We may update this Privacy Policy from time to time. The updated version will be posted with a new effective date. If changes are material, we may provide additional notice where required by law.
